Kanda:

Me:

-

{- ✶ -} “It’s fine, Kan.” He takes a deep breath, and a long pause. “Some things are hidden for a reason, mine just happen to be— on the outside. I’m sure there’s plenty I don’t know about you, right?” With that, he takes the lighter from his— what was Kanda to him, now? No matter. He lights the cigarette between the lips he’d rather kiss than speak with, right now.

The smaller boy leaned into the other, snuggling into his uniform to get comfortable. He took the newly lit cigarette from him, flicking some of the ash off.

“Thanks.”

Well, since Lavi wasn’t willing to reveal, he threw in something, just to make up for it.

“Sometimes, I see things that aren’t there.”

He inhaled the smoke, thinking about the flower that haunted him- sometimes in his dreams-and all the baggage that unloaded. He sighed , disgruntled. He gripped a fold on Lavi’s shirt, lips feeling lonely.

{- ✶ -} “Don’t we all, though? I mean– after the shit we’ve been through, the shit we’ve seen….” Lavi shakes his head, “Any person would. Isn’t it, like– PTSD, or something? Kanda, we deal with death and monsters on a daily basis. It’s a fucking miracle we haven’t gone loony tunes, yet, y'know?”

“It doesn’t work.” He feels bad now, for not sharing. He’ll say what he can, but it’s just– hard for him to explain. “It’s all scarred under there, and my other eye is– white, and sometimes it… oozes? It’s just really terrible.” There’s a long pause, before Lavi steals Kanda’s cigarette to take a puff from it. “I think I blocked what happened? Because, I don’t remember. Like, at all. And whenever I look at it too long, I start getting panic attacks? Must have been bad.” He’s actually downplaying it– most people would have just had surgery to get it all looking normal, and a fake glass eye.
