{- ✶ -} “Leave me alone, you Noah trash— I just got to the good part in my book.” He’s usually not this rude to anyone.

He clicks his tongue in amusement, taking another draft from the lit cigarette. A laugh bubbles up through his lips, one that could be perceived as sinister, or dark.
{- ✶ -}“That means I’m doing my job right!” Lavi calls, with a grin– wrapping an arm around Kanda’s shoulders and motioning outwards with the other. “You know saying that stuff just encourages me.”
{蓮} - “Since when have I ever appreciated your jokes?” That was a little harsh, but he hoped it would distract Usagi from the mystery of Kanda’s ‘personality change’ (in a way).
{- ✶ -} “Since never, but that doesn’t mean I’m just going to stop.” He believes Kanda secretly loves and appreciates them.
Technically, he had been mind snatched, he thought to himself, but didn’t dare to say it out loud. This was bad—Usagi was starting to get suspicious, and probably curious too, and if he got curious, it wouldn’t be long for all of his secrets to fall into Usagi’s hands. He had to distract him, quick. Too bad Usagi hadn’t made it easy for him, considering he used his last name.
{蓮} - “The fuck do you mean by that?” he snapped. He hoped he wasn’t making a mistake.
{- ✶ -}“I’m making a joke, calm down.” Lavi offers a big grin, waves his hands in front of him. He mentally notes that Kanda’s in a mood today. “You just don’t seem yourself, lately. I was trying to– make light of it, I guess.”
{蓮} - “I…don’t know,” he stated with a frown. Did he have long hair during his first life? Or did he have short hair, wanting to grow it long (but not having enough time)? He had no idea, but, for some reason, it seemed wrong for him to cut his hair.
{- ✶ -} “Do you feel sick, Kanda?” Lavi was beginning to feel concerned for his teammate. “This isn’t like you– or have you been, like– body snatched!?”
{蓮} - “It’s—” Why did he insist of having long hair? He had climbed out of the pool with long hair, and the scientists had never cut it. Did he think of it too much of a hassle to cut it? But, then again, the long hair in and of itself was also troublesome. A confused look came to Kanda’s face as he realised he didn’t know why he kept his hair so long.
{- ✶ -}“So there’s not a reason?” Lavi asks, now curious. “That’s strange, I think. You’re such a reasonable person, how can you just be so stuck on something without a reason?”
{蓮} - “I’m also trained in physical combat, if they are too close for Mugen to cut them. And it’s not that long.”
{- ✶ -} “Why are you so set on having long hair, ‘Kan?” Lavi shakes his head– how come he thought the other wasn’t going to get defensive? “I was just thinkin’.”
… ” What mind would be? “ Lenalee paused for a moment, she had thought about what it would be like if she had a different kind of weapon before but she had the dark boots so long, she couldn’t imagine herself using anything other than them. ” Hmm… I’m not sure but I like your Innocence though, I think it’s cool how your hammer changes sizes! I like General Cross’s innocence too. What if you had a parasite innocence, that’d be completely different! “
{- ✶ -} “Remember when you had long hair? What if, like– your innocence was in your hair, and it grabbed people like tentacles, or something.” Lavi suggests, with a laugh. “I wouldn’t trade mine, though– I get you. I like my hammer.”
{蓮} - “Then I stab them. By grabbing my hair, they’d be in close anyway, and it would be harder for them to dodge me.”
{- ✶ -} “Except not really, man– your hair is, like– really long.” He frowns, “I’m just worried because your sword is a bit too long to be ideal for close combat.”
